I'm posting partly in hope of a soltion, but mostly to document the problem for others. I'm not sure there is a solution to this because I suspect it is a software-based communication prblem between the V600 and VueScan. After I initially reported this, his suggestyion was a shorter cable and to try a different USB port. On modern Macs we now support all operating systems from Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. If you are narrowing your search for a scanner model, visit the VueScan site, and select their link for the scanner to see if it is supported with or without vendor drivers. I am awaiting a follow up reply from Ed Hamrick at VueScan. ColorPerfect 2.25 was updated on November 24th 2019. VueScan supports 6600+ scanners (some that still require compatible vendor drivers, and many others without any vendor software at all. I have purchased a new short USB cable for the V600, tried all three USB ports on my laptop, rebooted my laptop, and re-installed the Epson software and VueScan. At that point I have to turn the V600 off and quit (sometimes Force Quit) VueScan. If it hangs, the V600 blue activity light continues flashing as if it were trying to communicate with my laptop. Any dpi setting higher than that results in VueScan hanging on the 'calibration' step or just quitting. With my Epson Perfection V600 Photo scanner (but NOT with the WF-3620) I can preview (400 dpi setting) but not scan to TIF at any setting greater than 400 dpi. Epson GT-S50 Epson GT-S55 Epson GT-S80 Epson GT-S85 VueScan 9.7.16 released on 28 December. ![]() With my Epson Perfection V600 Photo scanner and EpsonScan 2, some of the TIF files are corrupt and cannot be imported into Capture One Pro (Version 23) unless I first open the file in something like GraphicConverter and then resave it without any alterations other than resaving it. Fixed problem with some Epson scanners on Mac OS X Epson DS-30. VueScan is a flatbed scanning OCR software that works with virtually all brands of scanners new and old. ![]() Using MacBookPro (Monterey 12.6.3) I can scan photos (color and B&W) with my Epson WF-3620 (networked) scanner, using either EpsonScan 2 (V 6.4.100) or VueScan (V 9.7.99). Have you got a document scanner but the OCR software included with it doesn’t work very well If so, VueScan Pro for Mac could be for you. In response to this thread ( Epson scanner software constantly hanging… - Apple Community) I have a related follow up.
